The Principal and associates of Standards Wise recently undertook for compulsory training for assessors to assess organisations against the new 2nd Edition. This was an extensive course which also involved a 10 module course for understanding and assessing services from a cultural perspective for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. The new NSQHS Standards have much higher requirements for governance and consumer and community engagement. This will be a challenge for some practices and organisations to understand how this applies and implement effective strategies to meet the standards.
